Texas Brown Snake, Storeria dekayi texana |
Texas Brown Snakes,
as mentioned before, are a subspecies of brown snake. While their diet includes earthworms and slugs, snails are a primary component of their diet. They have been
observed twisting snails out of their sometimes wedged shells to consume. With such a diet preference, it is not uncommon to come across these non-venomous snakes while gardening.
